How to make a collage

Add several photos at once, choose a layout, and the photos fill the cells in order. Pick a shape to match where the collage is going: square for a feed post, 4:5 portrait for Instagram, 9:16 for stories, or 16:9 for a wide banner. Adjust the spacing, corner roundness and background colour, then download. To change which photo sits where, click one cell and then another and they swap places.

Layouts

There are simple grids from one photo up to a 4 by 3 grid of twelve, and mosaic layouts with a large feature photo beside or above smaller ones. A mosaic suits a set with one standout image, while an even grid works better when every photo matters equally. If you add more photos than the layout has cells, the extras are listed but not used, so switch to a bigger layout to include them.

Fill or fit

Fill the cell scales each photo to cover its cell and crops the overflow, which gives the cleanest edges. Fit whole photo shows the entire picture with a neutral band around it, useful when cropping would cut off a face or a product. Mixing portrait and landscape photos works best with fill, and a larger spacing value gives a framed look.

Quality and privacy

The collage is rendered on a canvas up to 1600 pixels on its longest side and 1080 on the shorter side for portrait shapes, which suits social media and web use. Choose PNG for the sharpest result or JPEG for a smaller file. Everything happens in your browser, so your photos are never uploaded. Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. The photos are read and combined by your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to Curious Assistant or anywhere else.

How do I change which photo goes in which cell?

Click a cell in the preview to select it, then click a second cell. The two photos swap places. To start over, use Remove all photos.

How many photos can I add?

Up to 12, each up to 25 MB. The layout you choose decides how many are shown, from one photo to twelve.

What resolution is the downloaded collage?

Square and portrait shapes are 1080 pixels on the short side. Landscape shapes are 1600 pixels wide. That suits social posts and web pages. For large prints, start from a dedicated print tool.

Why are my photos cropped?

The default fill mode covers each cell and trims the overflow. Switch Photo fit to Fit whole photo to see each picture in full.

PNG or JPEG?

PNG is lossless and sharpest. JPEG gives a much smaller file and is fine for photos, so choose it when upload size matters.
