How it's calculated
New overall = Current overall + (New score − Old score) × Exam weight. Because the exam's weight stays the same, only the difference between the two scores affects the outcome.
Worked example
Current overall 78%, exam worth 20%, original score 60%, retake score 90%: 78 + (90 − 60) × 0.20 = 78 + 6 = 84%.
Frequently asked
What if my school replaces the old score entirely instead of averaging?
This calculator assumes the retake score simply replaces the old score's contribution at the same weight. If your school uses a different retake policy (like averaging old and new, or capping the retake grade), the result won't match — check your school's specific policy.
