Free Academic Transcript Generator — Create Official PDF Transcripts Online

An academic transcript generator is an online tool that lets students, graduates, and educational administrators produce a professionally formatted university transcript in PDF format — without any design software, templates, or manual calculations. Our free tool handles CGPA calculation, semester GPA (SGPA), and official document formatting automatically.

Whether you need a transcript for personal record-keeping, scholarship applications, or career planning, this generator produces a clean, readable A4 PDF that matches the standard format used by universities across Pakistan, India, the United States, and beyond.

What Is an Academic Transcript?

An academic transcript is the official record of a student's academic performance throughout their university career. It lists every course taken in each semester, along with:

  • Course code and full title
  • Credit hours assigned to each course
  • Grade received (A, B+, C, etc.)
  • Semester GPA (SGPA) per term
  • Cumulative GPA (CGPA) across all semesters
  • Total credit hours completed
  • Program, department, and enrollment status

Transcripts are required for graduate school admissions, job applications, scholarship applications, credit transfers, and professional certification programs.

How to Use This Transcript Generator

  • Step 1: Enter student details — full name, registration number, degree, university name, and admission year
  • Step 2: Choose your grading scale (4.0 or 5.0)
  • Step 3: Add semesters and enter each course code, title, credit hours, and grade
  • Step 4: Optionally add a watermark (e.g. "UNOFFICIAL")
  • Step 5: Click "Preview & Download" — the tool calculates CGPA automatically and generates your PDF

How CGPA Is Calculated

CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) measures your overall academic performance across all semesters. The formula is:

CGPA = Σ (Grade Points × Credit Hours) ÷ Σ Total Credit Hours

For example: if you earn an A (4.0) in a 3-credit course and a B (3.0) in a 2-credit course, your GPA for those courses is (4.0×3 + 3.0×2) ÷ (3+2) = 18/5 = 3.60. Our tool performs this calculation automatically across every semester you enter.

Frequently Asked Questions

An academic transcript is an official document issued by a university or college that shows a student's complete academic record — including all courses taken, grades received, credit hours earned, semester GPA (SGPA), and cumulative GPA (CGPA). Most universities issue transcripts in PDF or printed format through their Registrar's Office.
Yes. This tool is completely free to use. You can generate and download up to 15 PDF transcripts every 5 hours. There is no account registration, no hidden fees, and no watermark you don't control — the watermark field is fully optional and customisable.
CGPA is calculated using the weighted average formula: total quality points (grade point × credit hours for every course, summed across all semesters) divided by total credit hours. For example, an A (4.0) in a 3-credit course contributes 12 quality points. The tool does all calculations automatically the moment you click Preview.
Two scales are supported: the 4.0 scale (A=4.0, A−=3.7, B+=3.3, B=3.0, B−=2.7, C+=2.3, C=2.0, F=0.0) used by most Pakistani, American, and Canadian universities, and the 5.0 scale (A=5.0, B=4.0, C=3.0, D=2.0, F=0.0) used in some African and Middle Eastern institutions.
Yes. There is no limit on the number of semesters or courses you can add. Each semester can have as many individual courses as you need, each with their own course code, title, credit hours, and grade.
Yes. The PDF is generated server-side using mPDF, which renders the document in A4 format with the exact same layout, fonts, tables, grade rows, CGPA box, and watermark that you see in the preview modal. What you see is what you get.
No. This is a self-generated, informational document. It is not verified, certified, or issued by any university or accreditation body. It should be used only for personal planning, academic advising, scholarship eligibility checks, or educational purposes — not as a substitute for an official university-issued transcript.
No. All data you enter is processed entirely on your device for the preview. When you click Download, only the structured form data is sent to the server for PDF generation. Nothing is stored in any database. The data is used solely to produce your PDF and is discarded immediately after.
To prevent automated abuse and ensure fair access for all users, each IP address can download up to 15 transcripts per 5-hour window. The rate limit panel at the top of the page shows your current usage and the exact local time when your limit resets. The preview is always unlimited.
