Coin Flipper

Flip one coin for a quick decision, or up to 1,000 at once to see the tally. Every flip is exactly 50/50, drawn from the browser's secure random source.

— Choose how many coins, then flip.

How it works

Each flip takes one random byte from crypto.getRandomValues, rejects the two top values so the split is exactly even, and maps the rest to heads or tails. Nothing is sent anywhere, and the session tally resets when you reload the page.

The history line shows your most recent 60 flips (H for heads, T for tails).

Frequently asked

Is a virtual coin flip really 50/50?

Yes. This tool draws from the browser's cryptographically secure random generator and discards values that would skew the split, so heads and tails each have an exactly equal chance on every flip.

Why don't my results look evenly split?

Randomness is streaky. In 10 flips, a 7–3 split is common, and a run of five heads in a row shows up in about one of every 16 short sequences. Evenness only emerges over many flips, which you can see by flipping 1,000 coins.

Can I use this to make a fair decision between two people?

Yes. Agree who is heads before flipping, flip once, and don't re-flip.
